# Can anyone help me identify this Bofors Shell?
Author: Derekc

Hi,

Sorry I cannot write in Swedish.

I am a collector of ordnance from WW2 and I have this shell which has been identified as a 76.2x603R x108 Bofors m/27 AA. The brass case is marked with ADK - 'Armé Depot Karlsborg', 1941. There is a clear P 11 stamp, a small L and some numbers. But the projectile and fuze are a mystery. The projectile has been chrome plated at some time, the fuze appears to be a dummy. Is this the correct projectile for this Bofors case? If not what is it? I asked a fellow collector in Finland and he tells me that the projectile is not like any Bofors he knows!

Here are some pictures showing the case, projectile and fuze, the driving bands measure; 15mm upper, 9mm lower. The length from the lower band to the top is 201mm whilst the fuze measures 90mm (total 116mm). I cannot remove the projectile as it is crimped into the case.

Thanks and regards from Denmark.

Derek
