**Meet the King Stallion, the U.S. Military’s New Muscular Helicopter**

First there was the Sea Stallion, a workhorse helicopter that cut its teeth in combat in Vietnam. Then there was the Super Stallion, which offered more power and received heavy use in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, we've learned what's coming next: The King Stallion, the military's most powerful helicopter ever, which is set to fly for the first time later this year.

Snygg var den inte men den är nog ett bra redskap och kommer till nytta.

Lite oklarheter i Wikipedia minst sagt, beträffande CH-53K King stallion står det så här:

The CH-53K is to surpass the capability of the CH-53E by carrying nearly double the external payload of 27,000 lb (12,200 kg) over the same radius of 110 nmi (204 km).[\[38\]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikorsky_CH-53K_King_Stallion#cite_note-CH-53K_broch-38) The CH-53K's payload reaches a maximum of 35,000 lb (15,900 kg).

Men beträffande Super Stallion CH-53E står det så här:

The CH-53E can transport up to 55 troops or 30,000 lb (13,610 kg) of cargo and can carry external slung loads up to 36,000 lb (16,330 kg).

Så någon uppgradering verkar det ju inte vara frågan om när det gäller lastförmågan.
