**Russia and India announce step-change helicopter production**

Russian Helicopters has announced an agreement to establish a joint venture (JV) in India with Elcom Systems to manufacture Russian-designed rotary-wing aircraft under the Ka and Ma brands.

**Russian Helicopters to Open Helicopter Assembly Plant in India**

During the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India, Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Oboronprom and Elcom Systems Private Limited signed in New Delhi an agreement to set up in India a modern industrial facility for manufacturing of Russian helicopters of the Ka- and Mi- brands.

**India, Russia to boost defence ties**  

Describing their defence relations as “a crucial element of the strategic partnership,” India and Russia vowed to enhance cooperation in the key areas of rocket, missile and naval technologies.

Indiens statsminister Manmohan Singhs besök till Ryssland avses främja det militärtekniska samarbetet de två länderna emellan. De två ländernas ledare har bland annat dryftat två gemensamma projekt – femte generationens jaktplan FGFA och multifunktionella lastplanet MTA, samt uthyrning av ännu en rysk atomdriven ubåt till Indien.

Det är nog en väldigt bra affär för Indien.
